UNA Alloa
About
The UNA Alloa Branch is a recent addition to the UNAS family and has been in discussions across our community to find an inclusive way forwards for the work to benefit our community, both locally and globally. We have held events, we have instigated many conversations and discussions and we have shared the work of the UNA Scotland and the connections of this work to the global UN efforts.
Activities
UNAS Alloa Branch have, through listening to the concerns and worries of local people, elected to work towards the Sustainable Development Goal 17 ‘Partnerships for the Goals’. Across our community the impact of the cost of living crisis, currently means that 1 in 4 children in Clackmannanshire are living in poverty. The Ukraine Russia war, and the Israel Hamas war are both leading to a growing level of polarization in our community; for people are increasingly living in fear of difference. With these points and many others that have been contributed over the last months, the Alloa Branch will lead on building partnerships for encouraging us all to work together, to develop belonging , to increase kindness sharing and to achieve the remainder of the SDGs.
